Prakash Ambegaonkar

Prakash Ambegaonkar is the founder and CEO of Bridging Nations, a non-partisan, non-profit policy organization based in Washington, D.C. that explores ways to facilitate cooperation in an increasingly interdependent and multipolar world.〔(Bridging Nations )〕
Previously, he founded three technology companies. Tellus Technologies was one of the first software companies in India, while E-Lock created the digital signature products that President Clinton used to sign the e-signature law making internet transactions legally enforceable. Frontier Technologies was named one of Information Week’s Top 25 Intranet Companies and was honored as one of Upside Magazine's Hottest 100 Companies. Overall, his companies have won over 30 industry awards, including LAN Magazine's Product of the Year three times running. Dr. Ambegaonkar was also named Inc. Magazine's Regional Entrepreneur of the Year in 1995. A visionary in technological, economic and socio-political trends, Dr. Ambegaonkar’s unique global perspective makes him an innovative and knowledgeable leader in a variety of interdisciplinary fields.
Dr. Ambegaonkar has also been very active philanthropically. He is the founder and hon. CEO of the Bridging Nations Foundation, a think-tank in Washington, D.C. that focuses on the issues of leadership, technology and education, working to make education a universal birthright. Additionally, he and is wife contribute to numerous causes including the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Asia Society, the Orphan Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the Smithsonian, the National Museum of Women and the Arts, Georgetown University, George Mason University, The George Washington University, and the World Affairs Council.
Dr. Ambegaonkar received two master's degrees in electrical and industrial engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Marquette University. He currently lives in McLean, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC with his wife Nunda.〔(CareersUnbound )〕
